At Media Leaders, we’re passionate about creating content. But unusually, we’re equally passionate about helping others to make it themselves.
We’ve spent much of the last twenty years sharing our skills and experience with people worldwide. We’ve worked with reporters in India, editors in Nigeria and film-makers in China. Can we work with you?
We work in many ways to help improve your skills:
Co-production: If you’re looking for very specific support on a project, we can work right alongside you to help you achieve the results you want. Sometimes you might want help to find your own way to do things; at other times you might want to draw more heavily on our knowledge and experience of the industry.
Training: Whether your team has 5 or 150 members, we can design and deliver a formal training programme in a classroom-style environment. Our training is lively, engaging and highly interactive. (We do like to think we’re very good at it – but then we’ve also trained hundreds of people as media trainers and have won a Rolls-Royce award for our programmes.)
Resources: As you’d expect, we produce our own training materials to a very high standard. Our handbooks have been published by the BBC, translated into several languages and are now in use around the world.
Online learning: Our team created an online learning system for the BBC that’s been used everywhere from Azerbaijan to Yemen (sadly not yet in Zambia or Zimbabwe!). We can offer you online courses from our library or build them especially for you.
Training the Trainers: If you’d like to deliver training yourself, why not ask us about our training for trainers? We’ve successfully trained hundreds of media professionals to share their skills with others. Many of them have found that their careers stepped up a gear after attending the course.
Training Needs Analysis: We are experienced at carrying out formal Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) on behalf of media organisations and international development organisations and funders. We use a variety of tools to establish your organisation’s training and development needs. We can also suggest innovative ways to meet those needs – from on-the-job training, formal training programmes, to online courses and networks.
